Hello!
I’m happy you found your way to my site.
Liz Burke, EdD
I am a poet, educator, writing coach, and scholar committed to critical and transformative approaches to teaching, learning, and living. One of my greatest passions is facilitating the full, authentic expression of voices that have not yet been afforded safe spaces to thrive. I bring a genuine sense of curiosity to this process and to all that I do.
I know writing to be a means of transformation, a healing practice, and a way of connecting to oneself and others. Since 2004, I have worked with countless clients from various industries and educational institutions, and have seen this to be true over and over again.
I’ve shared my writing and research at numerous conferences including Transformative Language Arts Network, the New Working Class Studies Association, Crossroads: Irish American Literary and Cultural Festival, and others. My writings have appeared in Ireland and the Americas: Culture, Politics, and History: A Multidisciplinary Encyclopedia, Volume 2, The Irish Herald, Soulstice: A Feminist Anthology Volume II, and Sandy River Review.
I live in San Diego, CA with my beloved dog, Mr.
